Validating a Model Predicting Retrieval Ordering Performance with Statistically Dependent Binary Features
Information retrieval performance may be measured retrospectively, after experiments have been conducted or other data has been gathered, or performance may be predicted for systems before retrieval, given the system, document, and user parameters. While many retrieval models assume the statistical independence of features, such as natural language terms, retrieval systems may be implemented co...
متن کاملA single-vendor and a single-buyer integrated inventory model with ordering cost reduction dependent on lead time
Lead time is one of the major limits that affect planning at every stage of the supply chain system. In this paper, we study a continuous review inventory model. This paper investigates the ordering cost reductions are dependent on lead time. This study addressed two-echelon supply chain problem consisting of a single vendor and a single buyer. The main contribution of this study is that the in...
متن کاملA New Continuous Multi-State Reliability Model with Time Dependent Component Performance Rate
A CSS1†is a system with the continues-state components. When a component has the ability to obtain all the situations from completely working to completely failed, it named continues-state component. In the real world, performance rate of elements are continuous and decrease by time. Continuity of components causes infinite working states and grows up the system states. In this paper we propose...
متن کاملFinding statistically motivated features influencing subtree alignment performance
In this paper, we present results of an ongoing investigation of a manually aligned parallel treebank and an automatic tree aligner. We establish the features that show a significant correlation with alignment performance. We present those features with the biggest correlation scores and discuss their significance, with mention of future applications of these findings.
متن کاملOn the optimality of Naïve Bayes with dependent binary features
While Naı̈ve Bayes classifier (NB) is Bayes-optimal for independent features, we prove that it is also optimal for two equiprobable classes and two features with equal class-conditional covariances. Although strict optimality does not extend for three features, equal covariances are expected to be beneficial in higher-dimensional spaces. 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
